Delhi-Varanasi-Bodhgaya-Rajgir-Nalanda-Patna-Kushinagar-Lumbini-Sravasti-Lucknow-Delhi
One of the fastest spread religions of the world is Buddhism. May be because of its theory to overcome the sorrow of life. The preacher of this theory was born at the small village on the borders of Nepal and India and went on to attain enlightenment under the Bodhi tree in another small hamlet in India, known as the Gaya, which was later known to be Bodhgaya. This tour takes you from the birth place of the Lord to the place wher he breathed his last.

Day 1: Delhi

Late evening arrive Delhi. Upon arrival assistance and transferred to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 2: Delhi

After breakfast full day sight seeing of Delhi. Visit the <a class="PIInfosoft-placeName" onclick="openAttractionDescriptionPopup('en', 'A7K','DEL','IND','India');" data-target="#PopUp5" href="javascript:void(0)" data-toggle="modal">Qutub Minar</a>, the tallest mand made tower in India.

 
Later visit the <a class="PIInfosoft-placeName" onclick="openAttractionDescriptionPopup('en', 'LTE','DEL','IND','India');" data-target="#PopUp5" href="javascript:void(0)" data-toggle="modal">Lotus Temple</a> and the <a class="PIInfosoft-placeName" onclick="openAttractionDescriptionPopup('en', 'RGH','DEL','IND','India');" data-target="#PopUp5" href="javascript:void(0)" data-toggle="modal">Raj Ghat</a>. Drive to the <a class="PIInfosoft-placeName" onclick="openAttractionDescriptionPopup('en', 'A7M','DEL','IND','India');" data-target="#PopUp5" href="javascript:void(0)" data-toggle="modal">India Gate</a> and take a photostop at the Rashtrapati Bhawan, President House. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3: Delhi - Varanasi

Post breakfast at the hotel in the morning, transfer to the doemstic airport to take the flight to Varanasi. Benares... as it is popularly known, is one of the oldest living cities of the world.

 
Upon arrival transfer to the hotel. Later in the afternoon transfer to <a class="PIInfosoft-placeName" onclick="openAttractionDescriptionPopup('en', 'AUC','VNS','IND','India');" data-target="#PopUp5" href="javascript:void(0)" data-toggle="modal">Saranath</a>, a small hamlet from varanasi. This is the place where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon after attaining enlightenment.
 
Back to the Varanasi and visit the Ghats in the evening to witness the Ganga Aarati. Aarati means to evoke the deity by offering lamps as this becomes a wonderful sight when small lamps are seen floating on the waters of the Ganges.

Day 4: Varanasi

Even before breakfast in the morning transfer to the Ghats of the Ganges to take a boat ride. From the boat you may witness the marvellous sun rising above the waters. At the same time you can see many people offering prayers in the water.

 
Later back to the hotel and drive on to Bodhgaya.
 
Upon arrival check in at hotel. Whole day visit the various temples and the place where the Lord attained enlightenment. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 5: Varanasi - Bodhgaya

Post breakfast at the hotel, full day free for prayers at the temples of Bodhgaya.

Day 6: Bodhgaya

POst breakfast in the morning at the hotel, transfer to Rajgir. Rajgir was a flourishing capital of the Magadh rulers during the time of Buddha in the 6th century B.C. It flourished to become staunch follower of Buddhism. The Buddha frequented Raja Griha, seeking the solitude and tranquility of the Jivkamaravana monastery, preaching and meditating at the Griddhakuta hill.

 
Later transfer to Nalanda. Here are the ruins of the oldest known university of the world. The excavations undertaken at the site have unearthed a huge complex of a University founded and patronized by the Gupta emperors. After visiting Nalanda, transfer to Patna.
 
Check in and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7: Bodhgaya

Post breakfast in the morning, transfer to Kushinagar. Kushinagar is the place where Lord Buddha attained mahaparinirwana (breathed his last). In the temple dedicated to the Lord, there is a casket of the Lord's sacred ashes.

Day 8: Bodhgaya - Rajgir

Post breakfast at the hotel in the morning, transfer to the birth place of the Lord on the Nepal - India border, Lumbini. It is said that mother of the Lord dreamt of a white elpehant before giving birth to the child.

 
The temple here is known as the Maya temple and you can find the famous Ashok Pillar.

Day 9: Rajgir - Nalanda

Morning transfer back to India by road. Arrive at Sravasti. Sravasti was under the rule of Koshal dynasty when Buddha came and stayed here. He received a great patronage from the Kings of the Koshal dynasty who not only patronized the philosophy but also helped spreading the Buddhist doctrine all over the world.

 
It was in Sravasti that Buddha multifold himself thousand times, to silence his critics, thus giving the story of miracle of Sravasti, which manifested in most of the Buddhist paintings and sculptures.
 
Overnight stay at Sravasti.

Day 10: Nalanda - Patna

Morning post breakfast sightseeing of sravasti. later tramsfer to Lucknow. From Lucknow either take the shatabdi train back to Delhi or take an evening flight to Delhi.

 
Upon arrival transfer to Hotel for overnight stay.

Day 11: Patna

early morning depart to the airport for onward destination.
