Day 1: Chennai
On arrival at Chennai our airport representative will receive and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Chennai
After breakfast, proceed for a half-day sightseeing Chennai city.There's nothing much to see from a traditional tourists's point of view. Most of the colonial buildings are usually in use as administrative offices and the traditional Tamil boroughs of Mylapore and Triplicane, though interesting are densely populated and aren't very welcoming to gawking though one should brave it at least through Mylapore. Chennai is more of a commercial city with various industries, banks, offices, port, & a thriving movie industry. The most popular forms of entertainment are a visit to the cinemas at the weekend or some time at the sandy beaches. Restaurants, watering holes and discotheques have been opening with increasing frequency and while the absolute numbers aren't much, they're more experimental than most Indian metros with the exception of maybe Mumbai and Bangalore. While in Chennai one can drop into one of the following places. Visit attractions like Gandhi Memorial, <a class="PIInfosoft-placeName" onclick="openAttractionDescriptionPopup('en', 'A4F','MAA','IND','India');" data-target="#PopUp5" href="javascript:void(0)" data-toggle="modal">Kalakshetra</a>, Mylapore temple and Marine beach. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 3: Chennai - Kanchipuram
Morning after breakfast drive by surface to Mahabalipuram enroute visiting Kanchipuram. Visit ancient capital of the Pallavas famous as a city of 1000 Temples and still has 124 shrines.The monuments are mostly rock-cut and monolithic, and constitute the early stages of Dravidian architecture wherein Buddhist elements of design are prominently visible. They are constituted by cave temples, monolithic rathas (chariots), sculpted reliefs and structural temples. The pillars are of the Dravidian order. The sculptures are excellent examples of Pallava art.
Day 4: Kanchipuram - Mamallapuram
Morning after breakfast drive to Pondicherry after breakfast and enroute visit to Tiruvannnamalai.Tiruvannamalai is known for everlasting peace and divine with the proud possession of the holy shrine of Lord Arunachaleswara and Ashrams.
Day 5: Mamallapuram
Drive to Aurobindo ashram in the morning.Puducherry still retains much evidence of its history as a French colony. The design of the city was based on the French (originally Dutch, the plans of Pondicherry dating from the end of the seventeenth century (1693–1694) are preserved in the National Archives at The Hague) grid pattern and features neat sectors and perpendicular streets. The entire town is divided into two sections, the French Quarter ('Ville Blanche' or 'White town') and the Indian quarter ('Ville Noire' or 'Black Town'). The history of French India is led by Joseph François Dupleix, governor general of the French establishment in India, and rival of Robert Clive. Dupleix was primarily responsible for the Carnatic Wars. At first Dupleix was successful in resisting the attacks of the English East India Company, but he lost in the later battles After returning, have lunch at the hotel and move onward for a sightseeing tour to the city. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: Mamallapuram - Thiruannamalai
In the morning after breakfast transfer to the airport for Chennai to catch flight for onward destination.
