The most well-known of these is Kodiak Crab Festival.

Over 100,000 historic and prehistoric items are housed in the Archeological Repository, these have been assembled from various excavation sites. The Ethnographic collection features contemporary Native art and replicas of historical objects. Botanical, fauna and geological displays are highlighted in the Natural History collection.
The Baranov Museum contains a variety of historical artifacts. On display are Aleut, Alutiiq and Russian artifacts, photographs, and old households items including early 20th C American furnishings.
It covers 5,400,000 acres along the Gulf of Alaska and includes numerous islands. Encompassing the Copper River Delta, this area is home to one of North America''s largest concentrations of trumpeter swans.Recreational opportunities in the area include fishing, hunting, hiking, dog sledding, snowmobiling and camping.
