    Auburn is a city in Lee County, Alabama, United States.Auburn is a college town and is the home of Auburn University. Auburn has been marked in recent years by rapid growth, and is currently the fastest growing metropolitan area in Alabama and the nineteenth-fastest growing metro area in the United States since 1990.Auburn is the home to the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art. The Smith Museum maintains a collection of primarily 19th and 20th century American and European art.

Documenting all of the intercollegiate sports played by Auburn men and women down through the years, the museum shows people how athletic programs have contributed to Auburn''s historical traditions. Recognizes some of America''s most well known athletes with high-tech interactive exhibits, life-size talking dioramas and traditional displays.
Founded in 1856, today Auburn University has a student enrollment of about 22,500. Samford Hall, Langdon Hall, and University Chapel are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Other points of interest include the Donald E. Davis Arboretum, Lovelace Sports Museum, and sporting events of 20 NCAA Division IA teams.
Miles of nature trails for hiking and biking follow the creeks and hills of this 696-acre park. A 26-acre lake for swimming, fishing, and boating is available as well as tennis courts, playground, a beautiful waterfall, picnic areas, and group camp area. Cabins are also available for camping.
Walking trails of the 110-acre preserve offer opportunities for birding, observation of wildlife, and identification of trees and wild flowers. Focal areas include the Wetlands, Butterfly garden, fern, reptile, and wildlife trails.
This 1845 Trade Center stucco and plaster building houses vintage clothing, quilts, old toys, and furniture. There is a furnished log cabin, blacksmith shop, Indian teepee, and farm tool display.
Arts Center promotes community participation in theatre, dance, and art by providing classes, performances, and events.
Large facility offering skating and an arcade.
Water theme park featuring a 450,000 gallon wave pool, two large speed slides, four body flumes, lazy river, toddlers play area and swimming hole, volleyball facilities, and concessions.
