Kit Carson Park in Taos is named after the famous Western pioneer, who is now actually buried here. Covering around 32 acres / 13 hectares, additional attractions at the park include a number of other notable headstones, together with recreational areas, picnic spots and a playground for children.
Situated in the valley of a small tributary of the Rio Grande, this adobe settlement – consisting of dwellings and ceremonial buildings – represents the culture of the Pueblo Indians of Arizona and New Mexico.
The Rio Grande Gorge Bridge spans a narrow canyon a soaring 650 feet / 198 meters above the fast-flowing Rio Grande River. The views of the surrounding mountains and valleys are spectacular.
