The 1830s-built State Capitol of North Carolina is a National Historic Landmark, made in the Greek Revival-style. The governor`s office used to be housed here, along with the legislative chambers, state library and cabinet and state geologist`s offices.
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Oakwood is an enchanting neighborhood of restored and carefully maintained Victorian and Antebellum homes.
This is home to the only Acorcanthosaurus discovered in the world, and Willo, the first dinosaur found with a fossilized heart. The Discovery Room is full of interactive exhibits.
