Burj Al ArabLocated in Dubai, Burj Al Arab is an iconic beachfront luxury hotel that also enjoys the tag of being the fourth tallest hotel of the world. Standing on the artificial island just a stone’s throw away from the Jumeirah beach, the hotel was unveiled in 1999 and is connected to the main island through a private bridge. An attraction in itself, the building is designed to look like the sail of the ship and is also referred as the ‘World’s only 7 star hotel’. The hotel has garnered appreciation for its well designed and impressive construction as well as its palatial décor that leave the visitors visibly dumbfounded. You can also enjoy some amazing views from the sky view bar of the hotel in addition to the views inside the hotel that include dancing fountains, gold trims, swirling carpet designs, enormous aquariums and a breathtakingly large atrium big enough to hold the entire Dubai World Trade Center.
Burj KhalifaYou can term it preposterous or impressive, there is no denying the fact that Burj Khalifa offers a once in a lifetime experience to gaze at this ground breaking man made engineering and architecture marvel. Even Hollywood could not ignore this stunning piece of art and had Tom Cruise prancing around this spell bounding tower performing his latest ‘Impossible’ feats. Piercing the sky at the height of 828m which is almost twice than that of Big Ben, Burj Khalifa also enjoys the tag of being ‘World’s Tallest Building’ in addition to being Dubai’s own ‘Tower of Babel’ too. With an eclectic mix of hotels, offices, and apartments, the tower is a living wonder that enjoys several records registered to its name- world’s longest elevator travelling distance, highest number of stories in the world, highest observation deck of the world, as well as the tallest service elevator of the world. The place is also home to the world’s highest restaurant, world’s highest mosque, and the world’s highest swimming pool. So visit this jewel of Dubai that has been made from textured stainless steel panels, vertical stainless tubing, aluminum and reflective glazing, especially during the sunsets and see the world in a way you have never seen it before.
Camel racecourseCamel racing is one of the most popular sports of UAE. Watching it is an altogether different from other sports that we are used to. The track for the camel racing is set on the outskirts of the Dubai city at the Nad Al Sheba. The racing season starts in November and remains till March so that people get to watch the races when the weather too is at its best. It is quite an experience to watch big camels thundering diwn the track with small pint sized jockeys holding on for their dear life. The most popular races are the ones that are held on Eid and National Day. You will be lucky to find any ticket still available on these days as they are sold out in a matter of minutes after they are put up. In addition to this, Nad Al Sheba also offers the facility of a fully floodlit golf course that is in itself its distinction for being the only one in the whole of UAE.
