    Trento is an Italian city located in the Adige River valley in Trentino-Alto Adige/Sudtirol.It is a lovely place just two hours from the Austrian border. It is culturally Italian with a hint of Austrian influence.Trento offers rather interesting monuments. Its architecture has a unique feel, with both Italian Renaissance and Germanic influences.Part of the medieval city walls is still visible in Piazza Fiera, along with a circular tower.

It includes a museum and the famous Torre dell''Aquila, with a cycle of fine Gothic frescoes depicting the months, commissioned by the prince-bishop Georg von Lichtenstein.
The cathedral, on the south side of the square, was remodeled internally at the beginning of the 13th century as a pillared basilica in Lombard Romanesque style; the central dome was entirely renewed in 1887-89. The interior has 13th-14th century frescoes and numerous bishops'' tombs.Under the cathedral are the remains of an early Christian church (sixth century), with a fine mosaic floor.
It consists with a notable treasury and 16th century Flemish tapestries.
A Renaissance villa next to the Adige river built around 1550 by the Madruzzo family, now hosting a modern art museum.
In the choir of the Renaissance church of Santa Maria Maggiore northwest of the cathedral are a beautiful organ gallery and a picture of 1563 with likenesses of the members of the Council of Trent, which sometimes met here.
