    Dijon is a city in eastern France.Dijon is the historical capital of the province of Burgundy.Dijon boasts a large number of churches and cathedrals, including St. Bénigne, Notre-Dame, St. Étienne, and St. Michel. The crypt of Dijon Cathedral, dedicated to Saint Benignus, dates from 1,000 years ago, and the city has retained many architectural styles from many of the main periods from the past millennium, including Gothic, Renaissance and Capetian.There are many museums in the city, including one dedicated to mustard and steak.Despite the very high number of fine medieval buildings to be found in the city. It is a clean, pleasant city and an enormous pleasure to visit, as much for the atmosphere and environment as any specific sights.Dijon holds the International and Gastronomic Fair every year. With over 500 exhibitors and 200,000 visitors every year, this is one of the ten most important fairs in France. Dijon is also home, every three years, to the international flower show Florissimo.

This stark Burgundian monastery was founded by St Bernard in 1119. With its church, cloister, refectory, sleeping quarters, bakery and ironworks, it is an excellent illustration of the ideal of self-sufficiency as practised by the earliest communities of Cistercian monks.
This is one of the city`s most important monuments.It was built in the 14th century and was intended to be the burial place for the dynasty of Duke Philippe le Hardi.The area is at present part of a psychiatric hospital.
Considered a masterpiece of Romanesque art, this abbey church was built in 1007 and features a crypt containing sculptures dating from the eleventh century.
The Arquebus botanical garden, arboretum and park is scattered with walking paths, ponds, streams, play areas for children and other features. Also located here is the Museum of Natural History, exhibiting related information and displays.
This museum will fascinate those with interest in archeology. The displays show a variety of artefacts with cultural and historical significance such as precious Celtic jewellery, rare items from the Romanesque period and Gothic items. The main highlight of the museum is the ancient bronze representation of Goddess Sequana, the goddess of healing, dating back to the 1st century AD.
