    It is one of the six metropolitan cities of Bangladesh.Rajshahi is the divisional headquarter of Rajshahi division.It is an industrial and educational center. It has a Medical College Hospital, the Varendra Research Museum, a Sericulture Institute, the University of Rajshahi (1953) and a good number of renowned colleges. Rajshahi is an important tourist destination because of a number of ancient mosques, shrines and temples in and around the city.Silk products are cheaper.

The mosque was built of brick on the bank of a tank and is surrounded by a brick wall. The mosque is known for its beautiful terracotta ornamentation.
It is established around the grave of Hazrat Shah Mokhdum Ruposh (Rh.) in Rajshahi city. He was the first Islam preacher in the Rajshahi region.
It is one of the most attractive tourist spots in Bangladesh. It is a small village five kilometers far the Jamalgonj in the Rajshahi district.
The main Mandir is in the central of the Monastery. The total area of this Monastery was about 27 acres of land at that time. The architecture of the pyramidal cruciform temple is influenced by the South East Asia especially Myanmar and Java.

It consists of a cluster of notable old Hindu Temples in Puthia Upazila, Rajshahi Division, Bangladesh. The temples were built by Hindu Zamindars Rajas of Puthia who were noted philanthrophists of Rajshahi. The temples have been built in terracotta in a variety of styles combining the typical Jor Bangla Architecture with other influences.Temple complex consist of Pancharatna Gobinda Temple, Shiva Temple, Jagannath Temple, The Rajbari or Palace of the Raja of Puthia.
It is a museum and research center. It is also popular visitor attraction located at the heart of Rajshahi town and maintained by Rajshahi University in Bangladesh.The collection include old Sanskrit, Arabic and Persian scripts,Buddhist and Hindu stone sculptures, modern wood sculptures,Persian, Sanskrit and old Bangla stone inscriptions,sculptured stones of the Muslim period and also displays the indigenous and tribal culture of Rajshahi region.
