Dhaka is a mega city and one of the major cities of South Asia. Jessore is a district located in the of southwestern tip of Bangladesh. It is bordered by India to the west.The district produces a variety of crops year-round. Date-sugar, called patali, is made from the sap of locally grown date trees. Bagerghat, under the Khalifabad Pargana, is said to have been founded by Khan Jahan Ali, the ruler of Pargana from 1429-59. The Pargana region also included settlements like Khulna, Satkhira, Jessore and Barisal. After Khan Jahan Ali, the region was taken over by Maharaja Pratapaditya in 1459.[1] Located at the confluence of two historical rivers, the Brahmaputra River and the Ganges, Bagerghat is also known as the Mosque City for the presence of a large number of mosques in the district. The Sundarbans is the largest single block of tidal halophytic mangrove forest in the world. The Sundarbans is a UNESCO World Heritage Site covering parts of Bangladesh and the Indian state of West Bengal. Bogra is a town and one of the oldest towns in northern Bangladesh. It is a centre of commerce and trade within the Bogra District and located under the Rajshahi Division. Somapura Mahavihara in Paharpur, Badalgachhi Upazila, Naogaon District, Bangladesh is among the best known Buddhist viharas in the Indian Subcontinent and is one of the most important archeological sites in the country. MAHATANGARH is one of the earliest urban archaeological site so far discovered in Bangladesh. The village Mahasthan inShibganj thana of Bogra District contains the remains of an ancient city which was called Pundranagara or Paundravardhanapura in the territory ofPundravardhana.
